This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. Responsibilities: • Reviewing submitted plans and documentation for conformance to regulations of the applicable zoning ordinance, including: setbacks, bulk measurements, height, building coverage, landscaping, parking, and other specific design standards • Interfacing with electronic permitting systems • Coordinating remote electronic review and activities with other review disciplines • Acting as the reputed company of contact for applicants regarding the status of their review, explanation of comments, and required revisions • Ensuring completion of application processing for project materials • Maintain positive relationships with municipal personnel and reputed company Studio staff • Suggest/recommend procedures, processes, and code revisions to improve operations and regulations • Ensure that customer commitments and company goals reputed company to plan review turn-around times are consistently met or exceeded • May be required to provide information, presentations, reports and recommendations to various jurisdictional boards regarding development or zoning actions. • May be required to review and manage requests for rezoning, annexation, subdivision plat, and variance for consistency and conformance with the jurisdictional client’s code and comprehensive plan. • Work independently on reputed company projects in a relatively fast-paced environment. Skills: • Understanding basic planning and zoning practice along with the ability to review plans and apply provisions of the ordinances and codes to determine compliance with such regulations • Reading and interpreting site plans, floor plans, elevations, and sections. Ability to understand an apply dimensional scales as it applies to development review • Writing and communicating effectively • The application of statistical, algebraic, or geometric knowledge to practical situations • Working with computer hardware and software programs, which may include the reputed company Office suite, the reputed company suite, Internet applications, GIS, desktop plan review software, and electronic permitting systems. • Being able to positively interact with the other team members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele • Demonstrating specific attention to detail Requirements: • This position requires 40% travel Education: The position requires the following: • The completion of a bachelor’s degree in urban planning, architecture, construction management, or a reputed company field that would give the applicant experience with reviewing architectural or development reputed company drawings Experience: The position requires the following: • Experience in plans review, drafting plans, zoning administration, or building code review preferred • Municipal process (zoning process) experience • Demonstrated work experience interfacing directly with customers to resolve customer issues COMPENSATION: Competitive salary and strong benefits offering.
