IPL Schoeller is a global leading sustainable packaging solutions provider, and they are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to support the expansion of their Reusable Transport Packaging (RTP) platform. The role focuses on identifying and developing opportunities in industries where reusable bulk packaging can replace traditional materials, requiring strong market research and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Market & Industry Research: Identify and evaluate key market opportunities for RTP, focusing on industries where reusable plastic packaging can replace wood, metal, or single-use solutions
  • Emerging Market Development: Prioritize opportunities across targeted sectors such as food processing, protein and poultry processing, industrial manufacturing, recycling, and automotive supply chains
  • Pipeline Creation: Generate and qualify new RTP opportunities, building and accelerating a strategic pipeline
  • Customer & Market Validation: Engage prospective customers, distributors, and industry partners to validate opportunities, understand application requirements, and position the appropriate RTP solutions
  • Product & Application Development: Work closely with Engineering and Operations to evaluate product fit, manufacturing capacity, and specifications required to support new product development for RTP applications
  • Manufacturing & Supply Alignment: Support decisions around production location, manufacturing feasibility, and operational readiness to enable entry into new markets
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Help define go-to-market strategies for new and emerging markets, including product positioning, customer targeting, and commercialization approach
  • Competitive & Market Intelligence: Monitor competitive offerings, pricing trends, and emerging technologies within reusable packaging and plastics markets
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, marketing, engineering, and operations to align business development initiatives with overall company growth objectives

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or market development within reusable transport packaging, plastics, or industrial packaging markets
  • Strong understanding of RTP applications and supply chains, including opportunities to convert from wood, metal, or single-use packaging to plastic RTP solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to identify emerging market opportunities and develop strategic pipelines across identified industries
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and product development teams to support new product applications and commercialization
  • Strong market analysis and industry research skills, with the ability to evaluate new applications and growth opportunities for RTP
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with key stakeholders and decision makers across distribution networks and end users
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite for pipeline tracking, reporting, and market analysis
  • Ability to operate strategically and independently while supporting the expansion of the RTP platform into new markets and applications
