Senior UI Artist (Remote)
Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and visually driven Senior UI Artist to join our game design team. This role focuses exclusively on the visual aspect of UI - crafting polished, stylized, and immersive user interfaces for our casino and gambling-themed games. The ideal candidate will have formal art training, excellent drawing and compositional skills, and experience using both traditional tools like Photoshop and modern AI tools like MidJourney or Leonardo AI to produce consistent, production-ready game UI elements. You will work closely with UX designers (who provide wireframes) and be responsible for the artistic realization of these flows into cohesive UI screens that align with game branding and emotional tone.
Key Responsibilities
UI Art Creation
- Translate wireframes and gameplay flows into visually rich UI layouts for mobile and web casino games.
- Draw, paint, and design custom icons, textures, panels, and decorative elements in Photoshop or similar tools.
- Use AI image generation tools to explore concepts, enhance visual iteration speed, and refine final assets for production.
- Apply principles of composition, visual hierarchy, lighting, and readability to game UIs.
Style Consistency & Asset Production
- Establish and maintain consistent art styles across different games and game states.
- Collaborate with 2D/3D artists to align in-game art and UI aesthetics.
- Prepare and export assets (icons, textures, backgrounds, overlays) optimized for Unity integration.
- Maintain and evolve a UI component library with variations for states and effects.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Art Directors to define visual language per game.
- Collaborate with motion designers to guide animated transitions and feedback.
- Integrate and review assets in Unity together with the dev team for accuracy and polish.
- Iterate quickly on feedback from art, product, and design leads.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- 5+ years of experience in game UI design or visual design for interactive products.
- Background in traditional or digital arts (art school or similar training is highly preferred).
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Figma.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, stylized game interfaces.
- Experience using AI art tools (e.g., MidJourney, Leonardo AI, DALL• E) and integrating them into the art pipeline.
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling, color theory, lighting, and composition.
- Solid knowledge of exporting assets for game engines (Unity experience a plus).
- Portfolio showcasing stylized UI work for games, especially in fantasy, casino, or card-based genres.
Preferred:
- Experience working in iGaming or with casino-style visuals (poker, slots, card games).
- Familiarity with motion design tools (e.g., After Effects, Spine) for UI transitions.
- Experience in mobile-first UI asset optimization and resolution management.
- Ability to paint and refine game illustrations or themed UI sets from scratch.
