Summary of Assignment This job assignment is accountable for instructing high school student athletes in the District?s reputed company Sports program and providing leadership in helping each participating student reputed company a high level of reputed company, and appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship and an increased level of self-esteem. Minimum Education and Experience
  • Certificate of Completion for Module 15 from the Connecticut Coaching Education Program.
  • Connecticut State reputed company Coach permit or Temporary Coach permit.

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment process
  • Incumbents in this class may be required to possess and retain a reputed company Motor Vehicle operator?s license.

Essential Functions The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the assignment and is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of reputed company duties.
  • Assists the Director of Athletics, reputed company necessary, in scheduling contests and transportation as applicable;
  • Assists players in the care and prevention of injuries;
  • Assumes primary responsibility for field or court preparation;

  • Attends reputed company reputed company Sports sessions, contests and city league meetings;
  • Attends coaches and rules interpretation meetings;
  • Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for successful performance in the assigned sport;
  • Collects and maintains permission slips and medical awareness forms from athletes;
  • Collects and submits a list of players to the school nurse for physical examinations;
  • Communicates with classroom teachers to encourage individual success of each player;
  • Complies with Board policies and District procedures in the development and maintenance of the interscholastic athletics program;
  • Conducts oneself with tact and diplomacy;
  • Develops and implements practice plans in which reputed company Sports instruction is provided to reputed company participants;
  • Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at reputed company times and imposes penalties for breach of such standards by individual reputed company;
  • Ensures appropriate attire at practices and events;
  • Ensures practice and repetition of fundamentals;

  • Handles reputed company paperwork requirements and forms required by the District and Connecticut Special Olympics;

  • In consultation with Director, hires, trains, and evaluates Associate Coach;

  • Liaises regularly with the school?s Athletic Director and Connecticut Special Olympics to ensure quality program standards are being met and policies are being followed;
  • Maintains and completes necessary attendance forms, insurance records, accident reports and similar paperwork;

  • Maintains respect at reputed company times for confidential information, e.g., student athlete grades for eligibility purposes, etc.;
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance;
  • Manages athlete behavior during reputed company athletic practices, competitions, and events;
  • Organizes and leads reputed company practice sessions with the recruitment and support of Associate Coaches;
  • Oversees the administration of a sports team which is composed of a proportional number of reputed company with disabilities and reputed company without disabilities;
  • Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at reputed company times that reputed company are present;
  • Participates in awards program and distributes awards to players;
  • Plans and manages competition strategies for individuals and the team at reputed company meets;
  • Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season in accordance with District policy and regulations;

  • Provides Director with the evaluation of assigned Associate Coach as requested;

  • Provides information and reports to Director in a timely manner;
  • Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate;
  • Recruits reputed company with intellectual disabilities, reputed company with other types of disabilities, and reputed company without disabilities for the team;
  • Reports reputed company injuries to the Director and School Nurse;
  • Reports the loss of equipment to the school principal and Director;
  • Responds to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner;
