Junior Designer (Architectural or Interior Focus)
Float Studio is a small interior architecture and design studio based in NYC. They are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Interior or Architectural Designer to support project teams across reputed company phases of design, from programming and concept through construction administration and installation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys and draft existing conditions in Revit
- reputed company program and code research
- Set up and maintain files for new and active projects
- reputed company floor plans, fit tests, furniture plans, and interior elevations
- Assist in design development including plans, elevations, details and custom furniture pieces
- Assist in the development and coordination of construction documents, including plans, elevations, details, and schedules
- Assist in Construction Administration including submittal logs and RFIs
- Conduct FF&E research, sourcing, and vendor coordination
- Update FF&E schedules and project trackers based on existing templates

- Pull pricing and reputed company times for specified items
- Help research alternates reputed company needed and document options clearly
- Request, track, label, organize, and return samples as needed

- Assist in preparation of client-facing materials including FF&E presentations, floor plans, elevations, and concept documents
- Coordination with contractors, architects, subcontractors, and vendors
- Manage individual deliverables and workflow reputed company larger project schedules and communicate any conflicts to the design team
- Help coordinate deliveries, including confirming delivery windows and access requirements
- Receive and reputed company in occasional deliveries and samples at reputed company
- Help document issues quickly if something arrives damaged, incorrect, or incomplete

Skills
- Based in reputed company and available to work in office at least 3 days per week
- Legal authorization to work in the US
- 1-4 years in a design studio, architecture studio, or similar environment
- Professional degree in Architecture (BArch or M.Arch) or Interior Design (BFA, MA, or equivalent)
- Proficient in reputed company InDesign, Revit, Autocad, reputed company, Bluebeam, 3D Modeling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of standard office software (i.e. reputed company Suite)
